(L) Since lithium is the lightest metal element (density is only 0.53g / cm3), magnesium-lithium alloy
Than the average density of magnesium alloy is much lighter (density is usually less than 1.6g / cm3);
(2) When Li% <5.7wt.%, The alloy is a single phase a structure (Li in
Mg solid solution); when Li%> l0.3wt.%, The alloy is a single-phase β structure (Mg solid solution in Li); when 5.7wt.
(3) In the general magnesium alloy, magnesium has a close hexagonal lattice, so the deformation of magnesium alloy
Power are poor. In the magnesium-lithium alloy, a phase has a hexagonal close-packed structure, β-phase with a body-centered cubic structure. Compared with the close packed hexagonal lattices, the body-centered cubic lattice has many slip systems. Therefore, in the magnesium-lithium alloy, the introduction of lithium element will improve the alloy's deformation processing ability.
