Anodes are mainly used in equipment such as water heaters, heat exchangers, evaporators, and boilers. They can soften water, remove dirt, and prolong the life of the main machine.

Magnesium alloy water heater sacrificial anode can be divided into casting type and extruded type and is widely used for the anti-corrosion of water heater and boiler.

Magnesium Anodes: Standard water heaters are equipped with magnesium anode rods (identifiable by weld bead on the plug). They work best where water is not hard (softer). In hard water conditions, magnesium anode rods typically last only a couple of years. Magnesium anodes corrode at a faster rate than iron.

Aluminum Anodes: For extremely hard water and high conductivity areas, aluminum zinc anode rods might be a solution. In areas with high PH water supply (8+), aluminum anode rods can form excessive amounts of aluminum hydroxide, creating a gel-like substance.

Zinc Anodes: If you experience rotten egg odor from hot water taps, installing a zinc anode rod can help reduce the smell. Zinc anodes are actually aluminum rods with a small portion of zinc (1:10 proportion) added to fight sulfur odor. Note: Removal of sacrificial anode will void warranty and affect tank longevity.

Flexible Anodes: Flexible anode rods are divided into several smaller sections (links), making them bendable instead of one solid piece. This is ideal for units installed in tight spaces or with limited overhead clearance.
