Compared with cast magnesium alloys, semi-continuous casting magnesium alloys have a finer structure, more uniform composition, denser interior, and higher strength and elongation than cast magnesium alloys.
Through pipetting, secondary scouring, high purity, and low impurity, the magnesium liquid is poured directly from the heating and holding furnace to rapidly crystallize, improving the denseness of the internal metallographic structure of the magnesium rod. The internal crystal is more reasonable and compact, leading to significantly enhanced physical properties compared to traditional cast products.
The slag content of flux in molded products tends to be zero in semi-continuous alloy. This is because the alloy adopts a new inert gas protection device in the magnesium smelting industry, changing the smelting process from traditional methods that are completely exposed to air. As a result, reliance on flux and other flame retardants is reduced, leading to a significant decrease in flux slag content and improved product quality.
The surface of semi-continuous casting magnesium alloys is smooth and clean, free from air holes, shrinkage holes, and slag inclusions.
These magnesium alloys offer flexible length and sizes, with existing specifications like Φ 93, Φ 112, Φ 170, Φ 212, Φ 217, Φ 230. They can be customized by stripping and cutting according to user requirements. Moreover, other products with different specifications can also be produced to meet customer demands.
Semi-continuous casting methods also allow for the production of various magnesium alloy flat bars, such as 200mm x 500mm thick flat bars.
