Product Description
Pure tungsten melts at approximately 3380°C and cannot be added directly into aluminum or titanium melts. This AlW50 aluminum tungsten master alloy (ingot, 4-8 kg) pre-alloys the tungsten, significantly lowering the melting point so tungsten can be efficiently introduced. While typical alloy grades include Al-5W, Al-10W, and Al-20W, this product is the high tungsten AlW50 (50% W) grade, balanced with aluminum.
Produced and supplied from Hunan, China, it is primarily used for aluminum component melting. Charging broken pieces or ingots into the melt ensures high tungsten recovery, uniform composition, and low segregation.

- Master alloy for defense aluminum components
- Improves heat resistance, wear resistance and toughness
- Consistent chemistry for critical applications
- Aluminum alloy melting (primary use): Add tungsten to cast and wrought aluminum alloys for grain refinement, second phase control, higher recrystallization temperature, high temperature strength and creep resistance; often used with manganese for better toughness and weldability; for aerospace and defense aluminum parts.
- Titanium alloy melting additive: Master alloy for introducing tungsten into titanium alloys, avoiding unstable melting of pure tungsten, improving high temperature strength and wear resistance for aircraft engine blades and impellers.
- Research and new materials: Lab development of aluminum matrix composites and high entropy aluminum alloys, powder metallurgy feedstock for Al-W composite powders, and precursor for high combustion enthalpy Al-W fuel powders.
- Other uses: Small additions for magnesium alloy grain control, and batching master alloy for lightweight high strength impact resistant aluminum tungsten components.
- Melting point far below pure tungsten, dissolves easily in Al / Ti melts
- High tungsten recovery, uniform composition, low segregation
- Forms: alloy ingot / broken pieces (lump) / granule, convenient for charging
