Aluminum anodes for for the protection of water ballast tank
Ballast tank anodes are used for the protection of water ballast tanks. We have designed and developed anodes in trapezoidal shape, in accordance with international standards. Our anodes meet current specifications for installation on new vessels, as well as for retrofit installations performed during a vessel’s special survey.
For application on tankers, aluminum anodes are not recommended to be installed on the cargo tanks, the tanks adjacent to cargo tanks, or on any locations where the potential energy exceeds 28kg m.
Various methods can be used to minimize the required time and cost of each installation. In order to minimize the risk of electrical discontinuity we recommend that anodes are welded. Bolted type anodes with various brackets, or doublers plates, can be designed and supplied upon request by the client.
