Product Description
The B4C-LV60-10 long venturi sandblast nozzle is purpose-built for heavy-duty industrial blasting operations where maximum productivity is essential. With a 60mm extended venturi profile and 10mm orifice, this nozzle accelerates abrasive particles to velocities exceeding 220 m/s, delivering up to 40% higher cleaning rates than standard venturi nozzles.
The hot pressing manufacturing process provides three critical advantages over conventional ceramic nozzle production:
- Maximum Density: Hot pressing achieves near-theoretical density (>99%), eliminating the micro-porosity that causes premature wear in pressureless sintered ceramics. Each nozzle delivers consistent performance from first use to end of life.
- Superior Grain Structure: The simultaneous application of temperature and pressure produces a fine, uniform grain structure (2-5 µm) that resists grain pullout, the primary failure mechanism in abrasive blast environments.
- No Sintering Aids: Unlike SiC which requires sintering aids (boron, carbon, aluminum) that form weak grain boundary phases, our hot pressed B4C is >99% pure, ensuring every gram of material contributes to wear resistance.
The extended 60mm venturi length provides a longer acceleration path for abrasive particles, resulting in higher exit velocities and a more uniform velocity distribution across the blast pattern. This directly translates to faster cleaning rates, reduced abrasive consumption, and lower per-square-meter blasting costs.
In ship hull blasting operations using G25 steel grit at 100 PSI, the B4C-LV60-10 achieved an average service life of 450 operating hours, compared to 120 hours for equivalent SiC nozzles and 50 hours for tungsten carbide nozzles. This represents a 73% reduction in nozzle replacement downtime.
