Product Description
The B4C-G25-04 is a drop-in replacement nozzle tip for handheld sandblast guns. At 25mm in length with a 4mm orifice, it fits most standard siphon-feed and pressure-feed handheld blast guns. Switching from steel or alumina tips to B4C dramatically reduces replacement frequency and improves blast consistency.
Steel and cast iron nozzle tips are standard equipment on entry-level sandblast guns due to their low manufacturing cost. However, their wear rate in actual use makes them the most expensive option per blasting hour:
| Nozzle Material | Average Life (Hours) | Unit Cost | Cost per 100 Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steel / Cast Iron | 2-4 hrs | $1-3 | $50-150 |
| Alumina Ceramic | 8-15 hrs | $5-12 | $40-150 |
| Boron Carbide (B4C) | 80-120 hrs | $5-12 | $5-15 |
At a unit price comparable to alumina ceramic tips but with 8-10x the service life, B4C gun tips reduce both direct replacement costs and the downtime associated with frequent tip changes. For a professional restoration shop or small manufacturing operation running a blast cabinet 4 hours per day, switching to B4C gun tips saves approximately $200-500 per year per blast station in replacement tip costs alone.
Unlike steel tips that rapidly enlarge and lose blast pattern focus, B4C tips maintain their 4mm orifice diameter throughout their service life. This means consistent air consumption, abrasive velocity, and blast pattern from the first hour to the last.
