This CuZr50 master alloy delivers 50% zirconium concentration in a copper matrix, making it the preferred zirconium source for producing CuCrZr and CuZr high-conductivity copper alloys. The elevated Zr content reduces the amount of master alloy required per melt, minimizing copper base composition disruption and improving melt efficiency.
- CuCrZr (C18150/C18400): The industry-standard high-conductivity high-strength copper alloy for resistance welding electrodes, spot welding caps, and seam welding wheels. Zirconium prevents grain growth at elevated service temperatures, maintaining electrode life and weld quality.
- CuZr (C15000): High electrical conductivity alloy with excellent softening resistance, used in vacuum interrupter contacts, high-voltage switchgear, and electrical connectors in power distribution systems.
