Product Description
HDD-Rated MMO Flexible Linear Anode
Standard linear anodes cannot survive horizontal directional drilling installation. Our HDD-rated anode is engineered from the ground up for the extreme mechanical demands of pull-through operations — river crossings, highway underpasses, and urban infrastructure projects.
HDD-Specific Engineering
Reinforced Jacket: Multi-layer construction with internal friction-reducing layer to minimize pull force and external abrasion-resistant layer to withstand bore wall contact. Tensile rating exceeds 5kN continuous pull force.
Flexible Core Design: Stranded copper conductor with enhanced flexibility accommodates bore path curvature radii as tight as 50 meters without conductor damage or insulation cracking.
Connection Reinforcement: Splice connections are over-molded with additional mechanical strain relief to survive the tension spikes that occur during pipe pullback operations.
Installation Process
Anode is attached to the pipeline and pulled through the bore hole simultaneously with the carrier pipe. Once in position, the anode provides continuous CP along the entire HDD section — protection where traditional groundbed anodes cannot reach.
Applications
- River and waterway pipeline crossings
- Highway and railway underpass CP
- Urban infrastructure HDD installations
- Environmentally sensitive area crossings
