Product Description
Extruded Magnesium Ribbon Anode AZ31 High Potential for Oil and Gas Pipe Cathodic Protect
magnesium anode zinc ribbon anode
Magnesium anodes have the highest protection capability of any galvanic material. While these anodes are most commonly used in the cast form, certain structures can be more efficiently protected through the use of extruded magnesium configurations. Extruded magnesium anodes have high surface and length ratios in relation to cross sectional size. This allows these anodes to deliver a higher current per weight than standard cast magnesium anodes. By supplying more current, extruded anodes can deliver effective protection to structures buried in high resistivity soils.
HB offers a full-line of extruded magnesium anodes in both rod and ribbon forms. Rod anodes are available in an alloy providing 1.4-1.5 volts driving potential (Galvorod). They are furnished with a variety of connection options and offered in numerous diameters. Ribbon anodes are manufactured in 3/8" x 3/4" flexible coils which can be easily shaped for use on a multitude of protection applications. The ribbon anodes are manufactured in a high potential alloy (Galvoline) providing 1.6- 1.7 volts driving potential.
Both rod and ribbon anodes are manufactured with a solid steel core in the center of the anode. This core distributes current uniformly through the anode to prevent excessive discharge near the connection end.
Applied Magnesium research and development in galvanic anodes began in 1939, and by 1949 Applied Magnesium had introduced extruded magnesium anodes for use in water heaters. As time went on, Applied Magnesium learned more about the advantages of anodes with small diameters and high current output to weight ratios, and identified several other applications for extruded anodes. Today, Applied Magnesium offers a complete line of extruded anodes for specialized cathodic protection applications.
There are four primary areas where extruded anodes offer important advantages in cost, performance, and ease of installation:
1. Water heaters and water storage tanks, where a small diameter anode simplifies installation.
2. Steel located in high resistivity electrolytes, where a small diameter anode gives a desirable current output to anode weight ratio.
3. Gas service entrance piping, where a small diameter anode can be driven into the ground to provide convenient and inexpensive protection.
4. Prepolarization of structures in seawater, where a small diameter anode gives short-term, high-current output.
1) Magnesium Casting Anode
Grade: AZ63, AZ31, MGM1C
Main application: Sacrificed magnesium anode suitable applies in the fields of anticorrosion. Such as: Oil, gas, water transmission in underground or fresh water, underground cable, chemical, communication, bay, watercraft and reservoir strobe.
2) Magnesium extruded anodes
Grade: AZ63, AZ31, MGM1C
Main application: Water heaere, water container, pre-polarization of steel structure in seawater, gas pipe, anticorrosion of steel and iron structure where high resistant and electrolyte (soil and water) existed.
3) Ribbon Anode
Main application: Ribbon anodes are used for the cathodic protections of sleeved pipings, tanks and pipe networks ad grounding grids guarding against heavyy current interfereence. And temporaly cahodic protection of pipings.
4) Aluminum Anode
Type: AL-Zn-In-CD AL-Zn-In-Sn Al-Zn-In-Si
Main Application: Aluminum anodes are suitable for the cathodic protection for such metal structures as ships, machinery, offshore engineering, harbor facilities, and pipings and cables in an ooze corrosion environment.
5) Zinc Anode
Main Application: Zinc anodes are sitable for the cathodic protection for ships machinery, offshore engineering and harbor facilities in seawater and fresh seawater andd for pipes and cables embeded in soil with cower resistivity.
6) High Silicon cast iron anode
Type: High silicon cast iron Cr-containing silicon iron
Main Application: It is widely aplied to the impressed current cathodic protection of oil drilling platform at sea. Bried pipings anad cables under ground.
Usage: Magnesium Sacrificial Anode has a very wide protection in vessels, ports constructions, ocean projects, underground cables, gas and water supply systems, drainage lines, chemicals, telecommunications, water boiler, heat exchanger, vapourater, etc.
Al-Zn-In alloy sacrifical anode is applied for the cathodic protction of vessel, mechanic equipment, Ballast Tank, tank inner, seashore facility, seabed pipeline, dock steel peg, ocean platform and cable ect. Which applied for the seawater as the medium.
NOTE: If there is no the size which you need, please give us your Drawing and the size of the anode, we will make the anode by your information.
