High Broad provides extruded magnesium anodes and aluminum anodes in various sizes with welded steel caps and resistor fittings for commercial water heaters. Magnesium anodes are available with grade M-1/AZ31 alloys with diameter sizes ranging between 0.50 to 1.05 inches. All products are produced under ISO standards, with quality tested by High Broad on a regular basis.

The magnesium rod reacts with ions in the water to prevent the adhesion of alkali and scale in the inner tank of the water heater, preventing corrosion. After an electric water heater has been used for a period of time, if the water output is slow and electricity consumption is high, it's likely that the magnesium rod needs replacement.
If not replaced, the inner tank becomes prone to corrosion and leaking. The enamel liner, while resistant to rust, can develop air bubbles or pinholes during production and may suffer from scale explosion during transportation. Enamel can also gradually dissolve and peel off in hot water, exposing the underlying steel plate to corrosion.
In areas with hard water quality, the anode magnesium rod gets consumed over time, allowing corrosion of stainless steel components. Since most electric water heaters are steel structures, particularly the heating parts which are vulnerable to alkaline water corrosion, installing a magnesium anode is essential for protection.
